New Album recording underway

On August 12th we began recording the new CD at Toronto's Revolution Recordings, Studio A. It was a wonderful three days and I was joined by a huge contingent of fantastic artists for the full band tracks. A number of solo guitar and voice tunes were also recorded, as well as one piano ballad. All told I think we're almost halfway finished recording all the tracks for the new album. I'm taking a 7 week break for my annual September of teaching outdoor education with ALIVE Outdoors and will get back into the studio to continue working on the new album in October. Everything is on track to finish recording and mixing by end of November. Here is a pic of the full band on Day 1. Photo credit: Sean Ryan

New CD crowdfunding campaign a success!

I am extremely pleased and grateful to report that I have reached my goal of raising $7,000 for the recording and production of my new CD. I want to thank all my friends/fans for pre-purchasing copies of the new album. Along with an $8,000 recording grant from the Toronto Arts Council and $10,000 from personal savings the total budget for the album has been set at $25,000. Recording will begin in August and will finish up in October, followed by mixing, mastering and manufacturing. I will once again be working with award-winning engineer/producer Chris Stringer. More info on recording studios we will be using, musicians who will appear on the album and album design will be shared in the coming weeks and months. Thank you again for your continued support of my musical endeavours!!
