New CD Crowdfunding Update

February 6th, 2012

Hi Folks:
I hope this message finds you well!

I'm about a month into my CD Crowdfunding campaign and I wanted to update you on the progress. Through the generous support of friends and fans I'm up to $3860 raised, plus 2 confirmed house concerts in the spring that will help immensely. The total budget of the project will be in the range of $20,000-$24,000, depending on how much money I am able to raise in advance. I have saved about $10,000 of my own money, the rest I hope to raise during this campaign. I want to thank those that have already supported me, and those that are considering support, and those that have simply sent me some lovely private messages of encouragement.

I begin recording in late June and plan to be all mixed and mastered by late August. CD release shows are being booked starting in November, and if all goes well I will have Crowdfunding copies available in early October.

In the next update I will breakdown the basic budget for making a recording, so that people can see where the money actually goes.

If you have already contributed, again I thank you! If you are considering contributing there are two ways you can do this:

Jory Nash begins CD "crowdfunding" campaign

For release JANUARY 3rd, 2012

In June 2012 I will begin recording a new album. To help raise the money to produce this ambitious recording I am doing something I've never done before: Crowdfunding!!

In an era when grant support is dwindling and  CD sales are dropping (though downloads and streamable listening are up) independent artists like me need support from their friends and fans to help finance the upfront costs of making a new album.

There are numerous levels of "support" you can choose, and every contribution helps! To learn more (and to contribute) please visit  http://www.kapipal.com/e11d2e9377e94e1e8ebabbf50f337af5

With thanks!
